Terms & Conditions Of Membership


Fitness In Time is a single-sex members-only association, and may, therefore, only be used by: members, guests of members, or prospective members accompanied by employees of the club. All memberships must be applied for in advance.  All memberships will have an agreed membership term that will be defined by the membership package chosen upon joining.


The Membership Committee (or any member of the committee) shall decide eligibility for membership on the application, and such will be final and binding provided that refusal of membership of the Club does not contravene any European nor United Kingdom law. The Committee is under no obligation to provide a reason for refusal of any application.

Membership is available to females only.  We reserve the right to ask for additional information to confirm your eligibility for membership.


Use of the Facilities

Before using any exercise equipment you must read and sign the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire and have a supervised induction session, which must be booked in advance. We can refuse access to the centre’s facilities if we consider your health may be adversely affected by the use of such facilities. In these circumstances, you will be granted membership once you have obtained a letter from your GP permitting you to exercise. If you have a medical condition that may affect your use of the gym, we advise you to speak to a member of our team before committing to membership.  As a private members club, we may refuse a membership application without reason.


Charges & Payment 

All memberships will be on either an ‘up-front’ basis or a ‘monthly’ basis


Up-Front Memberships

  • Your membership will run for a continuous 12 calendar month period.  After this period, your membership will finish unless you take out a new membership

  • The total payment is due on the day of your induction, which will constitute you joining the club.  This amount is not refundable in any circumstances, regardless of non-attendance.

  • You agree to advise us immediately of any changes to the member details provided.

  • Your payment provides you with membership to Fitness in Time for a period of 1 year from the date of your induction.  To continue to use the facilities after this date you must renew your membership or join under a different membership.


Monthly Memberships

  • Your initial payment must be paid no later than the date of your induction session.  This amount is not refundable in any circumstances.  This fee pays for your induction and membership of the club until your first membership payment.

  • Subsequent membership payments will be collected by Direct Debit on the same date every month until the membership is terminated in accordance with the membership package you choose. 

  • You are obligated to make every subsequent Direct Debit payment regardless of non-attendance, for whatever the reason for non-attendance may be, until your minimum term is completed.

  • You agree to advise us immediately of any changes to the member details provided. 

  • We may review the subscriptions and fees we may charge at any time.  We will give you thirty days’ notice before we make any changes to these amounts.

  • In order to extend your membership after completing the minimum term, we will automatically continue collecting the Direct Debit payment amount on the agreed day of every month.  Your membership will be extended by one month for each payment. Each payment is non-refundable under any circumstances.  

  • Memberships cannot be cancelled prior to the agreed contract length that you have signed up for and the last payment has been made. A contract may be cancelled once your minimum term is completed and the final payment has been made; this requires 30 days’ notice in writing to us, under the terms of the package you choose.


Period Of Commitment 

-You are agreeing to subscribe monthly for the services provided by the Service Provider and contracting to remain a subscriber for the minimum period of the contract ("Minimum Period").
-Once you have completed the minimum number of Direct Debit payments we will automatically continue to collect the agreed Direct Debit payment amount on the frequency chosen at the time of setting up the Direct Debit Instruction. Your contract will continue until terminated in accordance with these provisions. 

-You may cancel the automatic renewal of this contract at any time by providing at least 1 months' notice in writing or by e-mail.

Cooling Off Period
You have 14 full days after signup to cancel this contract for any reason. To exercise this right, you must inform us of this by in writing using the details provided.

-Your subscription starts immediately.
-You will be entitled to all the rights and privileges extended to you for the type of subscription chosen.

Please be aware that if you choose to cancel your membership under these terms, you will still be charged for services already received as detailed in our current price list.

Termination Of Membership, Limited Rights To Cancel
-During the Minimum Period you may cancel the contract only:
1. If we fail to maintain the standard of service you would reasonably expect.
2. If we alter the operating hours of the services unreasonably resulting in you being subsequently being unable to access the services.
3. If you develop a medical condition which prevents you from using the services on an on-going basis. An appropriate medical practitioner must provide written evidence that this is so.
4. If you move away from the area by a distance which we consider, at our sole discretion, to be too far to travel to the services for regular use. We shall require evidence that such a move has taken place.
5. If you lose your employment and are subsequently unable to keep up your repayments under this contract. You must produce documentary evidence and we may, at our discretion, suspend your payments for two months. We will then review your financial situation with you.
6. If you become pregnant. You must produce documentary evidence and we may, at our discretion, suspend payments for three months. We will then review your situation with you.

Termination Payment For Early Cancellation
-If you cancel your subscription during the Minimum Period, other than in the circumstances set out above, we shall be entitled to a termination payment ("Termination Payment").
-The Termination Payment will be the total of:
1. Any arrears;
2. Any accumulated late payment charges that have been or will be incurred; and
3. The monthly subscriptions that would otherwise have fallen due before the end of the Minimum Period.

Missing Payments
-If you miss two payments, you will be deemed to have breached your contract and legal action will follow.

Giving Notice To Cancel
-We will continue to collect your monthly subscription after the Minimum Period. Should you not wish to continue subscribing after the Minimum Period, you must give the notice to cancel the contract at least 1 month before the final payment of the minimum period. If you wish to cancel the contract at any time after the Minimum Period, you must give at least 1 months' notice. The notice should be in writing or by e-mail 


Missed Payment Charges
-If you fail to make a payment on time, you will incur the following charges:
1. Fail to pay the subscription on the due date £15.00.
2. Fail to pay the missed subscription within 7 days of the date of a reminder letter £30.00.
3. Fail to pay the arrears and accrued charges within 7 days of the date of a Final Notice £45.00.
- Late payment charges become payable immediately when they are incurred.
-Other Charges include:
1. Payment other than by Direct Debit £5.00.
2. Any cheque returned unpaid by your bank £10.00.
If you fail to pay any amount due under this agreement for a period of more than 30 days, then we may pass the debt to a third-party company for collection. The costs incurred in employing the third-party company will be borne by you including the costs in tracing you should you have changed address without telling us. 


Our Obligations

We shall use reasonable endeavours to provide the services but you acknowledge that our ability to provide the services may be affected by circumstances beyond our control.  Membership fees will not be refunded for periods of closure which are for reasons outside of our control.  Time shall not be of the essence for our performance of the services under the contract. We may also withdraw any free or complimentary services that we offer at any time without notice.


Refurbishment & Repair

You acknowledge that it may be necessary for us to close sections of the centre or remove equipment to carry out refurbishments or repairs and that this may disrupt our provision of services and agree that any such disruption shall not constitute a material breach of this agreement.


Your Membership Key tag

During your induction, your photograph will be taken at the club and you will be issued with a membership key tag.  You must sign in on entry into the gym using your membership key tag.  If you lose your key tag then you will be charged £15 for a replacement.  Your key tag applies to only you and cannot be loaned or transferred to another person. Your key tag remains the property of Fitness In Time Ltd and on termination of your membership must be returned; otherwise, you will be charged £15.


Termination of Agreement

Without prejudice to any other rights or remedies which the parties may have, we may terminate the agreement immediately on giving notice to you if you fail to pay any amount due under the agreement on the due date for payment and such sum remains in default not less than seven days after being notified in writing to make such payments.  We may also terminate the agreement should you commit a breach of the agreement or Fitness In Time rules.  The only way you can terminate this agreement is set out in the customer contract.


Updating Information

It is your duty to inform us of any information that may affect your membership.  This includes information relating to your health, which may affect your use of our facilities and services.  It is also your duty to inform us of any changes to your contact details including name, address, telephone number and emergency contact details.


Fitness In Time Rules

You agree to be bound by, observe and perform the member rules as displayed in the centre and acknowledge that we may amend the rules at any time at our discretion without notice.  As a private members club, we reserve the right to refuse membership to any individual who does not meet criteria for membership. If you are refused membership, Fitness In Time will refund any fees already paid minus a £15 administration fee. 

 We reserve the right to alter our operating times during public holiday periods. Facilities may also close for occasional special events. Notices will be displayed in the centre in advance notifying customers of any changes. No refunds will be available for these periods.



You may not transfer this agreement to anyone else.  We may sell, transfer, mortgage, charge or assign the benefits of this agreement at any time and our rights thereunder to a third party on notice to you.  Your rights under this agreement will not be prejudiced.  We shall have no liability to you under the agreement if we are prevented from, or delayed in performing our obligations under the agreement or from carrying out our business by acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond our reasonable control.  We may from time-to-time and without notice, change the services in order to comply with any applicable safety or statutory requirements, provided that such changes do not materially affect the nature of our services.

PLEASE BE AWARE, EACH BRANCH OF FITNESS IN TIME RESERVES THE RIGHT TO IMPOSE ALTERNATIVE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP.  This may include but not be limited to using a 3rd party collections agent for collecting payment and outsourcing to other goods and service providers.  Please see the terms and conditions of the club you are joining for further details.
