4 little letters that are causing me a world of trouble at the moment are G.D.P.R.
You probably have noticed that you are getting a lot of e-mails from companies asking you to re-subscribe to their newsletters and give permission for them to keep contacting you.
Well the reason for this is the new General Data Protection Regulations coming into effect on 25th May 2018.
These regulations basically mean that for a company to contact you, they must have your express permission to do so.
As a consumer, to me this is brilliant, and long overdue. If, like me, you are sick of the phone calls asking if I've been in an accident, or if I'm due a PPI refund or getting countless emails trying to sell me things I have no interest in. In theory, from the end of this month, they will all stop (IN THEORY - there will always be rogues out there with no respect for the rules).
As a business owner, however, it is causing me a lot of work. To make sure we are fully compliant, we are being extra safe and getting everyone to re-subscribe to our e-mails if you wish to keep receiving our monthly newsletter with recipes, motivation, interesting news and all the other good stuff we try to publish from Fitness In Time. We might very very occasionally send out an extra e-mail if there is some news or information that simply cannot wait until the next newsletter - but these are very rare occurrences!
I would however like to stress that we do everything we can to contain this stuff to one e-mail per month (so 12 per year) and of course we never share any information with other companies so your data is safe with us!
So please take a few minutes to quickly go to www.fitnessintime.co.uk and scroll down to the bottom of the page where you can input your e-mail to keep hearing from us. You can unsubscribe at any time, just by clicking on the link of any e-mail.
Thank you all for the positive words we get about our newsletter, and if you have anything to contribute, please do send it in to your local Fitness in Time!
We look forward to seeing you at the gym soon, and keep up the great work!
