See You On April 12th!

Good afternoon everyone! first of all, can I wish everyone a very happy Easter Monday! The government have just announced that gyms may reopen on 12th April as planned, and therefore I am happy to announce that Fitness In Time Abingdon & Chesterfield will be doing just this, we can't wait to see you! There will be certain restrictions in place, much the same as when we closed in December:

  • Capacity limit within the gym

  • Maintain 2-meters social distancing

  • Wash hands on arrival and leaving the gym

  • The coffee seating area will remain closed

  • No programme cards or 1-to-1 reviews

  • Windows open to circulate the air in the gym

  • Please come prepared for your session and leave straight afterwards

The gym team will be doing 2 x deep cleans per day and products will be available for you to wipe the machines before and after use too. Obviously, this may change if the government guidance changes, however, we intend to operate as normally as possible. We are unable to do programme reviews at present, but our team will be on hand to offer guidance, support and instruction for your workout. What About My Membership? I am working hard with our membership payments company to reinstate direct debits when appropriate. I hope you all understand that this is a very complicated procedure as all members are owed different amounts of time credited to your membership. You do not need to do anything at all, and your payment dates and amounts will be adjusted to account for the time we have been closed. It is therefore very important that you do not cancel or amend your direct debit directly with your bank - otherwise, these adjustments will not go through and you would lose the credited time. You will receive notification that your direct debit has been amended, but you should not take any action. The Future of FIT As I'm sure many people will be concerned about the future of the gym, I did want to write a few words about where we are heading. It's no secret that the last year has been incredibly difficult for small businesses around the country and beyond. We have faced unprecedented challenges, and without a doubt, the fitness industry has suffered immeasurably. It's no doubt that with the uncertainty of last year, our membership numbers are significantly down on where they were a year ago, however... It has never been clearer how important our physical and mental health is. This is why we have had many many enquiries, and we are sure to see many more. We will obviously be working hard to build our membership numbers back up to sustainable levels, and we will need the help of all our members to promote us by telling your friends and family about Fitness In Time. Please think about anyone you know who would benefit from being fitter, healthier and happier, and send them our way. Over the coming months, we hope to reinvest in gym equipment, refurbishment and hopefully opening more sites around the country. Just like our members, we will come back from the last 12-months fitter, and stronger! Not currently a member of FIT? If you are receiving this, and you are not currently a member of FIT, maybe your membership has lapsed, or you haven't yet managed to join us, I'm very pleased to announce that we will be keeping our 2018 prices for a short period of time (yes, that's right - we haven't raised our prices in over 3 years!) so please book a guest visit with us very soon! We have a very strict membership limit of 300 members, and with all of the enquiries we have had during the lockdown, availability may not last much longer! Beauty Salon Bookings Our beauty salon is taking bookings right now, and as you can imagine the diary is filling up very quickly. If you would like to book your beauty treatment, please head over to and book your appointment. Thank you all so much for your positivity over the last year, we know that the hard work is just beginning, but we are up to the challenge! We can't wait to see you very soon and look forward to helping everyone achieve their health and fitness goals once more. Take care and I hope to see you all very soon Peter
